Electro-motive leaving families devastated

Lisa Laventure is working on a TV feature about the manufacturing industry in Ontario.

She interviewed a man named Brad Bufford, who was just let go from the Electro-motive plant. He’s 53, and has a 14 year old autistic son to care for.

Brad was one year away from receiving his full pension when the plant closed. And he’s worked for electro-motive for nearly thirty years.

Lisa is focusing on what the closing of the electro-motive plant means for workers who can’t simply pick up and move to Alberta, or parts of the country where the economy is stronger. Her final product will be posted next week!
